About Digital Science Database
Digital Science is our partner in building this pilot database with a global perspective on Danish research. Digital Science contributes data as well as expertise in order to achieve the best possible result within the time frame of the pilot.

Reuse of data from the pilot database is not allowed without permission from Digital Science.
May 2022
- Beta-2 release of the portal database with Digital Science data, which in this beta version solely includes publication metadata
Imported Data
- Dimensions publication data with Danish country code from 2011 to date
Data Enhancements
- Danish affiliation names from the set of Dimensions publication records are mapped to Danish Affiliations in a standardized form (NORA names) and grouped in categories like Universities, Private Research etc. This is an ongoing effort.
- UN SDG Classification is added based on Digital Science’s UN SDG classification from Dimensions as they are tagged on the individual Dimension record
- AU/NZ FOR Classification is added based on Digital Science’s FOR classification from Dimensions as they are tagged on the individual Dimensions record
- OECD Classification is added based on a NORA mapping from Digital Science’s FOR Classification as they are tagged on the individual Dimensions record
- The Danish classification scheme DK Main Research Area is added based on a NORA mapping from Digital Science’s FOR Classification as they are tagged on the individual Dimensions record
- Collaboration countries are mapped into Regions in a standardized form (NORA names) of analytical interest, like OECD, EU etc.
- Interlinking across all four databases (Matching Records in) has been implemented based on DOI-matching
- Digital Science’s Open Access types are mapped to a standardized NORA OA terminology

Help and Guides
- Currently we provide in-context help in the form of mouse-overs and pop-up windows
Analytics Functionality
- To be added later in 2022
Imported Data
- When harvesting/importing publication data we rely on the country code(s) Digital Science relates to the publication records – this means:
- Records that have a Danish affiliation, but no Danish country code are consequently not included in the NORA database
- Records that have a Danish country code, but do not have an explicit Danish affiliation are included in the NORA database, but are not mapped to any of the Danish Affiliations names in the standardized form, but rather to ‘Other Research’
Danish Affiliation Names
- Mapping of Danish affiliation names to NORA standard names is solely based on the normalization of these names in the context of the Digital Science’s GRID database. We are working on including Danish affiliations without a GRID
Filter Functionality
- Groups as a Contributors sub-filter is not available
- Languages as a filter is not available
Full Record View
- Keywords are not displayed
- ISBN is not displayed
- Reference counts are not displayed
